Riverside Country Club in Saskatoon is seeking their next Head Golf Professional to become part of a premier, member-focused club known for its exceptional golf experience and strong community spirit. 

The next Head Professional of the Riverside Country Club must be a personable leader who is passionate about the sport of golf and driven to excel. They should be an accountable team player and a visible representative for the club. The club desires a strong communicator for both their membership, staff, and department heads. A natural ability to lead and motivate, coupled with a passion for the game, is essential.
 

The Club

​Overlooking the stunning South Saskatchewan River, Riverside offers an inspiring environment where tradition meets innovation, giving the next Head Pro the opportunity to shape programming, enhance member experience, and lead a dedicated team on one of the region’s most beautiful courses. This role is ideal for a dynamic, service-driven professional who thrives in a collaborative setting and is passionate about elevating member and guest services, as well as the game of golf.

In 1912 golf course architect Bill Kinnear had a vision of making Riverside Country Club one of the best golf courses in Canada. 113 years later his vision remains a reality with Riverside being ranked #53 on the Score Golf Top 100 courses in Canada. With rolling fairways, mature trees and breathtaking river view makes Riverside one of Canada’s most scenic and challenging courses.

Head Professional

As Head Professional, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing all Golf Operations.  They will be the visible presence for member events, retail, instruction and all day-to-day activities.  Some Key Responsibilities (but not a complete list of Job duties) are:

Member Experience

​

  • Support the Executive Director implementing the clubs Mission, Vision, and Core Values while collaborating with Management on golf and social opportunities to enhance the club experience. 

  • Grow strong relationships with the Membership ensuring trust and confidence in the operation. 

  • Visible and engaging with members and their guests of all ages.

  • Address member concerns with an educated and professional consistency. 

  • Expand on exemplary customer service for golf shop, back shop, practice facilities and club events

​

Human Resource Management

​

  • Support management in creating an engaging workplace culture. 

  • Develop an industry leading on-boarding process for staff.  Maintain a relevant and continuingly evolving Standard Operating Procedure manual. Hold all team members accountable to the SOP manual. 

  • Timely, pro-active communication with management, members and industry partners.

​

Finances

​

  • Administration of annual operational and capital finances. 

  • Pro-actively respond to the financial position and offer creative opportunities for financial success. 

​

Retail

​

  • Provide leadership and guidance resulting in memorable retail experiences. 

  • Ensure strong inventory control measures are in place.

  • Understand the needs of the membership and tailor the golf shop offerings to exceed the needs.

PGA Instruction

​

  • Work with the team of instructors to ensure that there is an advanced Instructional programing for the members of the club for all demographics. 
    Confirm the PGA staff remain engaged with new technology & coaching methods.

Desired Qualifications

​

  • Experience in Private Clubs

  • A post-secondary education in business or a golf-related program. 

  • 5+ Years of leadership in Golf or Hospitality Industry

  • An active participant in continuing education and engagement initiatives.
